AbSec Learning and Development Centre

Aboriginal-owned, authentically-operated training and educational courses.

Leadership through learning

The AbSec Learning and Development Centre (LDC) is not just a training organisation; we’re a movement dedicated to culturally grounded educational experiences. Our courses are designed with flexibility in mind, offering both online and in-person delivery to meet the diverse needs of every client.

The first facility of its kind in New South Wales and owned and managed by Aboriginal people, AbSec LDC is a registered training organisation offering specialised, accredited courses in child and family welfare, disability services, governance, and leadership. We are dedicated to empowering Aboriginal workers and those working with Aboriginal communities to make meaningful impacts in these critical sectors.

Lived experiences and examples were a big plus.

The chance to yarn with the facilitators and other students helped widen my knowledge.

Loved how interactive the session was, kept everyone thinking and engaged.

The guidance and understanding in this area truly reflect the LDC facilitators’ passion.

LDC taught me the importance of including a young person's voice, along with input from relatives, teachers, and support workers, in case planning.
